OpenWardrive ("we", "us") is a community-run, open wardriving map. This policy describes what data we collect, why, and how you can request changes or removal.
When you sign in and publish a WiGLE v1.6 CSV, the records inside become part of the public map under the Open Database License (ODbL-1.0). Public records include MAC prefix, SSID (when present in your capture), authentication mode, signal strength, and GPS coordinates. By contributing you confirm you have the right to share this data and that the data is not derived from unauthorized scanning of networks you do not own or operate.
Signing in uses Supabase Auth with a magic-link email. We store your email address, your Supabase user ID, and the public profile fields you choose to fill in (display name, username, bio, region, avatar). Your email is never displayed publicly; it is used only to authenticate you and contact you about account/security issues.
Our server logs standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL, response status) for the purposes of security, abuse detection, and capacity planning. Logs are retained for a short, rolling window and are not shared publicly.
The web app stores a Supabase session token in your browser's storage to keep you signed in, plus a few UI preferences (filter state, onboarding status, theme) in localStorage. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.
You can mint personal API keys for the public read endpoints and authenticated write endpoints. Treat them like passwords: store them securely and revoke them immediately if you suspect exposure.
If you believe a record about a network you own or operate should not be on the map, email [email protected] with the record URL. We will action well-formed requests within a reasonable timeframe.
You can update or delete your public profile, revoke your API keys, and request deletion of your account at any time by emailing [email protected].
